Refrigeration Plant
A mechanical refrigeration plant consists of the evaporating section, the compression section and the
condensing section. For packaging, the scope of supply can range from the entire plant (evaporation-compression-condensation)
or just the compression portion with connections for the customer-supplied evaporating and condensing sections.
The heat exchangers
may be shell and tube, fin-fan, plate and frame, plate and shell, brazed aluminium. GPE has experience sizing and selecting all commonly
used heat exchangers.
GPE has experience of designing and packaging refrigeration plant for many applications, including
- chilling
liquid methanol
- dewpoint control for natural gas
- condensing fluids e.g. ammonia, CO2
- brine chilling e.g. ground freezing
- liquid or gas cooling
GPE has experience with many commonly used refrigerants including
- hydrocarbons - propane, propylene
- ammonia
